Ah'Ha!ku is a brand centered around the Japanese poetry art form known as the haiku. It is the combination of the exclamatory aha! (when the bright idea light bulb goes on or anagnorisis) and haiku. What we do is have fun while sneakily educating.

We hope that as you read our haiklu it will encourage you to use your brain (to figure out what we are talking about) in a creative way, that will help you remember what you learned.

We hold live games as well as create interactive media to aid us in our goals. We hope that we encourage you to write your own haiku, and that you enjoy ours so much that you visit our store to educate and entertain others.

Born on the streets of Baltimore Maryland, James has always had a creative mind. At a very young age he was involved with local theatre and music productions. People knew that one day James could be somebody, if he tried.

Early on he found himself to be a social butterfly while also maintaining excellent marks in school. He attended Davis and Elkins College, nestled in the valleys of West Virginia, where he studied music and life. There he expanded his people and public speaking skills, while performing as well as being a student ambassador for incoming students.

But after returning home things took a turn for the worse. He formed a gang which he called an improvisational comedy group called the Mime Hunters. The mime community was decimated in silent horror at the hilarity that the Mime Hunters brought to steal audiences from their harmless whimsy. After running with them for a short while, James went in search of a new direction, something to better his life.

While seeking the wisdom of a great and wise man, atop a tall mountain among clouds of incense Ah'Ha!ku was born. Now James uses his writing to teach and have fun. He hopes that you will forgive his past and look to his future as he brings you the life changing joy of Ah'Ha!ku.

Earl Nicholson was born in the concrete world that is Baltimore City. With fond memories of his big-wheel and preschool on a hill, he pressed out through life. From dabbling into school plays to playing basketball at a young age, he discovered all the joy that is contained in the electronic box known as a computer. Anything that could be imagined could be created with a series of clicks and know-how. There was just one mission, getting past puberty, learning not to be ticklish and stumbling over feet. The choice was clear; make it to and out of high school.

Always on the search for the next tasty morsel, his stomach is presumed to contain a black hole which presumably fuels his mutant-like metabolism. After establishing his group of close friends and given paper showing his ability to command the computer, the circle is now complete.

In a fortress where warriors are gauged not by the number of muscles they possess but by the number of words per minute they type, Earl is aligned in digital brotherhood. The common enemy; computer bugs and weekend work.

Years and many "ah ha" moments would go by and Earl's idea book filled. It was one fateful day when creativity would be sparked into life. Never to pass up an intellectual challenge with a brother in arms nor a chance for wit and dry humor, Ah'Ha!ku was born.
